Our Adoption Story
On December 1st, 2004, Mark and I flew
from Beijing to Changsha, China to fulfill a
lifetime dream and commitment. Within an
hour of landing, Elizabeth SiJie was in our
arms and on her way to becoming the little
princess to her 3 big brothers, Noah,
Benjamin, and Josiah.

The "Friesen Four"
It had been an amazing journey
that had begun 7 years before
when we had attended our first
adoption agency meeting while
pregnant with our first child. When
people asked us why we were
going to China, we tried to
articulate our calling. As Nadia
once said, "If you knew your
daughter was stuck in another
country, wouldn't you do
everything you could to go and
get her?"

We're exceedingly grateful to our
friends and family back home who
prayed for us and supported us
throughout our journey, for the 9
families we traveled with who have
become extended family to us,
